If I am free of the Hep C virus after a treatment, how soon can I drink alcohol again?

Hep-c-alcohol

Those infected with the Hepatitis C virus know very well that alcohol consumption on their part is not a good idea and is actually very bad for their health and wellbeing.

Once a patient has been declared virus free or undetected a common question often arises if it is safe to drink alcohol again. The best answer to this question is found with your doctor who is best the professional qualified to guide you.

If you are “cured” from the virus, and you don’t have an alcohol abuse problem, drinking an occasional cup of wine during dinner does not necessarily represent a treat for your health. However you must be conscious of your livers vulnerable condition after having had the Hep C. virus for awhile. The safest advice is to avoid any liquor consumption. However, after the approval of your doctor, drinking a cup occasionally with extreme moderation should not be harmful.
